Our favourite summer fruits and vegetables

It’s hot, the sun is shining, everybody’s happy and the delicious summer fruits and vegetables are finally in our gardens. We prepared a list of our favourite summer fruits and veggies, and why we love them so much.

  • July:  lots of fruits and vegetables are enjoyably ripe:
    • Cauliflowers are a good source of vitamin C. Carrots are another interesting vegetable and an excellent source of vitamin A. Also, field, cherry, and Italian tomatoes are an amazing source of magnesium, which helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
    • As for fruits, blueberries, ground cherries, apples, and strawberries have very good nutritional qualities. Blueberries are a good source of vitamin C. Ground cherries and apples stand out as great sources of vitamin C. Finally, strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C. All these tasty fruits will be perfect in a nice and fresh fruit salad. Their main quality? They make people happy.
  • August
    • In order to end the summer on a high note, eggplants will appear in Quebec gardens at the beginning of August. Eggplants are an excellent source of vitamin B1. Vitamin B1 has excellent antioxidant benefits. Eggplants are delicious in a ratatouille or grilled directly on the barbecue with a bit of olive oil.
