Jazz by the River
When Jazz Resonates Through Montréal… and Bota Bota
Montréal is entering one of its summer highlights: the International Jazz Festival. Each year, this world-renowned event draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and transforms the downtown core into an open-air stage. Free concerts, legendary artists, spontaneous street performances… For over a week, the city moves to the rhythm of swing, blues, and soul.
But far from the crowds, on the calm waters of the St. Lawrence River, another way to experience this musical season is taking shape. Every Thursday evening this summer, Bota Bota hosts Jazz & Barbecue nights on the Pont Promenade terrace, an immersive experience where live music, wellness, and seasonal cuisine come together.

A Musical Stopover on the Water
With the city skyline as a backdrop, passengers are invited to settle in for an evening where jazz becomes more intimate. A local trio, Visaj, performs each week in a relaxed, almost private atmosphere.
The sound of instruments gently echoes between the boat’s metallic structures and the lapping of the river. On-site, La Traversée’s summer barbecue offers a simple, fresh, and flavourful menu: grilled dishes, salads, and vegetarian options to enjoy with a stunning view of the sunset.

This unique concept offers a different way to enjoy jazz — away from the crowds and in a setting made for relaxation and reflection.
A Relaxed Rule to Capture the Moment
Please note: although phone use is typically prohibited onboard to preserve the peaceful environment, it will exceptionally be allowed during these evenings, in designated areas and under specific conditions. The goal: to let guests capture the magical atmosphere without disturbing others’ experience.
An Invitation to Drift Away
To enjoy this musical interlude, it is essential to book your evening access to the water circuit on Thursdays. The event is exclusively available to guests holding a valid spa access during those time slots. As space is limited, advance reservations are strongly recommended.
This summer, jazz isn’t just played on stage.
It drifts over the water.
And perhaps that’s where it truly comes alive.
