The sound bath experience at Bota Bota
At Bota Bota, ambient sounds are essential companions in the pursuit of relaxation. From cascading waterfalls to rustling leaves in the trees and birdsong, a whole symphonic landscape accompanies you day and night.
To give sound an even more prominent place, sound bath workshops are offered on site to take you even deeper into relaxation. “The science behind sound therapy is well known. Its effects on the body are very beneficial,” explains Alexandra Messier, who leads these workshops.
With a background in philosophy, Alexandra incorporates a reflective, introspective approach into her practice. “Philosophy is the set of questions humans ask themselves about who they are. I bring this introspection into my sound bath workshops.”
To the rhythm of the sounds emanating from her various bowls, Alexandra transports participants to the edges of a universe in which each of us is the master. This experience, open to all, requires no prior knowledge from guests.

“The vibrations that come from the bowls affect both the body and the mind. The frequencies resonate and envelop us—there is nothing to do but allow yourself to be carried by the vibrations.” This altered state of consciousness opens a portal between wakefulness and sleep, offering the brain a chance to drift for a while. “There’s no room for worry or overthinking. Some people even fall asleep, and that sleep is often deeply restorative.”
Each bowl corresponds to a chakra in the body, such as the heart or throat chakra. “Depending on the note that’s played, the associated energy points are activated. These are connected to certain emotions, helping to rebalance energetic blockages,” Alexandra explains. “Music is an ancient form of therapy and healing.”

Combined with the water circuit aboard Bota Bota, these sound baths elevate relaxation to its peak. “Adding a sound bath to the relaxation phase enhances the overall experience. The body is already prepared to receive the benefits of the moment.”
