Obviously, it borders several neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n<p>More specifically, the port extends from Bickerdike Pier, near the Bonaventure Expressway and Cit\u00e9 du Havre, to Rivi\u00e8re-des-Prairies \u2013 Pointe-aux-Trembles. In between are the boroughs of Ville-Marie and Mercier \u2013 Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and the city of Montreal East.<\/p>\n<p>The port, therefore, has a large number of immediate neighbours in the residents and businesses located along or within a few streets of its facilities. Many organizations in your neighbourhood are working to improve the quality of life there, ensure its economic development and protect its environment. These organizations are also neighbours of the port, and we share many of the same issues.<\/p>\n<p>Last fall, the Port of Montreal gave some serious thought to how it could get closer to communities located near its facilities. The result is clear: we reaffirmed the Port\u2019s willingness to maintain good relations with its neighbours and to take concrete measures to get closer. In other words, it is now a priority for the Port of Montreal to strengthen and maintain dialogue with you, dear neighbours.<\/p>\n<p>The port\u2019s involvement with the Bota Bota Montreal ice canoe challenge shows that the Port of Montreal has the citizen\u2019s interest at heart and that the organization desires to maintain a harmonious relationship with its neighbours<\/p>\n<p>A new section of our website, the Logbook is another demonstration of our commitment.You are invited to join our community now\u00a0 to automatically receive future editions of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.port-montreal.com\/en\/logbook.html\">Logbook<\/a> along with information on port activities that specifically affect your sector.<\/p>\n<p>Also, feel free to contact us at neighbours@port-montreal.com with any questions, suggestions or comments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You probably heard of The Port of Montreal but how well do you know it ?
