Arid semi-desert zones constitute its natural habitat. It is recognizable by its shallow roots and triangular, fleshy leaves with serrated edges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAloe vera\u201d is Latin for \u201creal aloe.\u201d There are over 200 species of aloe, but only a handful\u2014the <em>real<\/em> ones\u2014 possess the therapeutic properties with which the plant has become associated. Aloe vera produces two substances: latex and gel. The gel is at the core of its fleshy green leaves.
