Word from the Captain
A WORD FROM THE CAPTAIN FEBRUARY 2018
He loves me, a little, a lot, to madness … not at all?
The month of February rhymes with heart, pink, everything kitsch and butterflies (you heard that right, you’ll be able to admire butterflies go free at the botanical garden starting February 22nd!). For me, it also rhymes with Ice Canoe! Indeed, for the sixth consecutive season, we are proud to support a Women’s Elite Ice Canoe Team and are pleased to see them perform in Montreal as part of the Montreal Ice Canoe Challenge, which will take place on Sunday, February 11th this year.
The adventure began in 2013 with the arrival of the Quebec Ice Canoe competition in Montreal. I fell in love with these races, for those brave women and men who brave the river in their canoe that looks so small in the middle of the frozen river. It seemed natural to me to support this sport by associating Bota Bota with a team of courageous and dynamic young women who are not afraid of cold water and winter!
If ice canoe is not your cup of tea, we still have many suggestions for activities or gift ideas on the occasion of the day of love. I also strongly recommend that you read our article on the health benefits of the sauna on the heart, based on an interview with Daniel Gagnon PhD, researcher at the Montreal Heart Institute.
So even if February is the coldest month of the year, in my opinion it’s also the opportunity to find the best way to warm up!
