New near, new intentions

The start of a new year often brings a desire for renewal: finding balance, cultivating well-being, and striving for greater serenity. What if, this year, we set goals that are simple, healthy, and realistic? Intentions that resonate with our personal or collective aspirations, aiming to improve our quality of life, achieve tangible objectives, or adopt habits that bring fulfillment.

This sense of renewal that the new year symbolizes offers a precious opportunity for introspection: “What can I do to be happier, healthier, or more aligned with my values?” The answer isn’t always obvious. It’s not about changing the world overnight but starting with small, achievable actions rooted in our everyday lives.

For these intentions to be sustainable, they must align with our lifestyle and adapt to our realities. Reflecting on this, I realized that defining my own resolutions wasn’t as straightforward as I had imagined.

Our team has kindly agreed to share their intentions for 2025, offering inspiring examples of renewal and purpose.

Meagan W., Director of Hospitality and Reservations, has set inspiring intentions: providing meals for those in need, resuming her barre classes three times a week, and preparing for her upcoming trip to Japan.

Marie-Claude C., IT Manager, combines well-being and exploration in her goals. She plans to try a new sport—pickleball—and continue her challenge of enjoying two sauna session per week. Additionally, she aims to discover a new café in Montreal every month.

Guillaume J., General Director, hopes to finally commit to his Spanish lessons—an intention he revisits each year but declares, “This year, it’s happening!” Above all, 2025 is a year for self-care for him, prioritizing peaceful evenings over constant busyness.

Marise L., Head of Procurement and Supply, wants to improve her posture at work, spend more quality time with her children playing board games, and give back to her community through increased volunteering.

Constance C., Brand Manager, views 2025 as an invitation to embrace more creativity, dedicating time to painting and working on her confidence in decision-making. Like many, she dreams of taking the plunge—an intention she’s carried forward for years without yet achieving it.

Marie-Claude B., Human Resources Director, focuses on personal growth and family. Her goals include improving her swimming routine, creating memorable experiences for her children, and, with a playful touch, shedding “a small five pounds.”

Myriam S. emphasizes habits that promote daily balance: taking a real lunch break away from screens, adding more vegetables to her diet, stretching daily, and engaging in physical activities like dance, badminton, or gym sessions at least once a week. She also aims to consume less but more thoughtfully, being mindful of her purchases.

Jacinthe M., hybrid hospitality and reservations agent, is pursuing a better balance between body and mind. Her resolutions include adopting a healthier sleep routine and devoting more time to enriching activities like reading instead of spending hours in front of screens.

Annick B., Marketing Director, is determined to prioritize self-care by incorporating physiotherapy exercises into her routine to prevent tension and pain. She also wants to reintegrate energizing cold showers into her mornings and reduce screen time—a recurring resolution. Annick hopes to rediscover her love of reading and make time for proper lunch breaks away from her desk.

As for me, I hope to establish a consistent fitness routine, swimming one or two times a week. I also aim to embrace more responsible consumption by prioritizing second-hand clothing over impulsive purchases. Finally, I want to reconnect with reading, picking up books I set aside last year.

In 2025, focus on patience and listening to your needs to turn your goals into lasting habits. You might be surprised at how well-being becomes a natural source of motivation and joy. And don’t forget to celebrate small victories—every step forward is worth acknowledging.

Keeping resolutions requires kindness toward yourself. It’s not about perfection but consistency and intent. By focusing on what genuinely brings you joy, you can transform your new year’s intentions into a sustainable and fulfilling lifestyle.
